The supplemental materials are FREE and can be found online for FREE. The big reason you can find the files in the folders is because I have a mania for simplifying things and I know some schools might not have good internet access or the Wifi jumps in and out (very frustrating). Hopefully the files will relieve these inconveniences. Be sure to please give the videos a like and thumbs up when you do use YouTube.
The real value is the time you save not having to peruse the internet for these articles, videos, and interviews. The workbook alone is worth its weight and will keep students occupied. The only downside for this unit is that it is NOT STANDARDS ALIGNED and there is NO GRADE RUBRIC/ANSWER SHEETS (sorry about that). However, the value of introspection and self-reflection in the Workbook/Notebook more than makes up for this absence. You will see that most of the questions in the Notebook are used as discussion pieces to help facilitate conversation/dialogue among students and increase understanding, exploration, and comprehension of Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. Be sure to use THINK, PAIR, and SHARE strategies regularly and often. ANSWER SHEETS will be forthcoming in future updates so be sure to check back. In the meantime, enjoy exploring this master work from one of the greatest rap artists of all time: King Kendrick, aka K-DOT, aka KUNG-FU Kenny, aka Cornrow Kenny, the man himself, Kendrick Lamar.
